Ritmos Dance Lesson

I go to the gym for my daily workout.  One of my favorite lessons is a dance fitness “Ritmos” there. The pictures are here.   Ritmos consists of eleven different kinds of dances such as Hip Hop, Latin, Jazz, Reggaeton, and so on in an hour.  The songs used in it are all popular and so cool.   They change every three months.  Now my most favorite song in it is “Bailando”.  I like Sean Paul ❤

Mountain Climbing

Have you heard of Yuichiro Miura?   He is a famous skier and mountaineer in Japan.   In May, he successfully reached the summit of Mount  Everest (8,848 meters) at the age of 80. Mail Online    The news of his accomplishment inspired me.   I climbed a mountain twice last month, but the mountain I chose was Mount Kimpo near my house which is only 665 meters above sea level.   I also drove  halfway up of the mountain. lol  There was  beautiful scenery of terraced rice paddies along steep hills at the base of the mountain.

Hydrangeas are a typical flower in the rainy season, June.  They were blooming beautifully.

Why don’t you listen to the birds singing while you read?   I recorded the melody of the little cuckoo and bush warbler.

After parking my car, the picture below is the place where I started climbing. There were two course: the easy and the hard trail.  Of course, I chose the easy one, but it was still a little hard for me. The distance to the peak was only 1.3 km though.

I enjoyed being immersed in nature.  The cool breeze was comfortable.

The trail was steep, stony and slippery.

I took a little break.  A whole view of Kumamoto city and  the Ariake Sea can be seen from the mountain.

Finally, it took about 45 minutes to reach the summit.    There was a shrine at the top.

By the way, I came across an interesting creature on the trail.  At first, I thought it was a blue rubber hose, but then it moved!

Have You Tried “Face Yoga”?

I wrote a little about various muscles in my last post.    You can shape up your body at a sport club.   Or voice training lessons can help you sing better.  The vocal cords are muscles, aren’t they?  Abdominal  muscles are also needed when singing.   However, I have neglected to exercised one very important part of my body: my face!   The Face has a lot of muscles, doesn’t it?   It tends to sag more and more as we age.    Ahhhhhh!   Thinking of what to do for my face, I searched the web.   Have you ever heard of “face yoga”?   I came across a video about it, but does it actually work?   If you have tried it,  please comment.  Anyway, I’ll give this type of yoga a try.

I forgot to mention one more person in this series : Ernestine Shepherd.   She is a 76-year-old body builder.

According to Mail Online,  she was a ‘couch potato’ until she was 56 years old.    It seems you can gain muscle mass at any age.    Now she is an instructor at a sport club.   I heard of her two years ago.   Her news encouraged me to work out.   But I trained too hard and pulled my calf muscle(>_<)    After that, I didn’t feel like using any training machines  for a while,  but this month I started out again.   Yeah!    My muscle tone has decreased a lot during this period.   The slate is wiped clean now.

By the way, the current Guinness holder for  the oldest female bodybuilding is another person, Edith Wilma Connor who is 77 years old (might be 78)  She is American too.  She started body building in her 60s.   Such articles make me feel like I shouldn’t waste my time. I’m gonna exercise now!  (I’m not intending to become a body builder-just a healty person)

Super Model Carmen Dell’Orefice is 81

I’d like to finish this series with this post.    It wasn’t my intention to select only women.    The fact is I simply couldn’t find anyt men.   The last person,  whom  you  may have heard of her too,  is Carmen Dell’Orefice, 81-year-old super model.    She is elegant, beautiful and graceful (@@)    I feel it is rude to call her a “granny”.   She was born in New York and has been modelling since she was age 15.

According to wiki,  she lost most of her money twice in her life.    For the first time,  it happened in the 1980s and 1990s when she was investing in the stock market.   For the second time,  it happened in 2008 when she was duped by one of Bernard Madoff’s ponzi schemes.   It seems she was unlucky with money.

Her posture is beautiful.  I think posture is a key point for beauty.

94-Year-Old Yoga Instructor Tao Porchon Lynch

Super Granny Series #4

You will be surprised this time again.   Tao Porchon Lynch, who lives in NY, is a 94-year-old yoga instructor.   She has been doing yoga for over 70 years. Practice makes perfect!

Please watch the video.  As the TV program hostess says, it’s amazing that she is beautiful, energetic, and travels the world, doing yoga and dancing.  How straight she stands!

I’ve been doing yoga for two years.   I like yoga.   It relaxes my body and spirit.   I can sleep well at night after yoga.   After watching the video,  I decided to live life without concern for my age.

When I was researching super old people on the internet, I came across this amazing woman.   Johanna Quaas is 87-year-old German Gymnast.
