My Karaoke Videos of This Year

Hi, everyone.   There are only two days left this year.   I have to clean the house and get some traditional New Year’s food now.   Before that, I’d like to share some of my videos created on the karaoke social website “Utasuki” this year.  It’s really fun to collaborate with other members.

I  tried to hula dance.

These days I sing the disco songs from around 1980 wearing an Afro wig.  My family doesn’t know about it. lol

Have a great new year!

Sing!Karaoke Now With Video!

The members in Sing!Karaoke were excited  yesterday.  Halloween?   No!  We were excited because Smule added video to Sing!Karaoke.  Now we can capture the video of our performances, such as playing instruments, adding visual effects and so on.   That’s wonderful.   I tried it, but my device iPad mini didn’t work.  I wonder if only iPhone is allowed  for now?

I heard from a member that iPad mini should be iPad Retina to create a video. Unfortunately, mine is not 😦

Smule Is Fun!

I wrote about music app called “Sing!Karaoke” by Smule before and really like it now.   As I use it, I get to learn various things.   One of them is “open mic”.  You can sing any song by using open mic.   Also, you can sing a free song solo offered by other kind members.   Let me introduce one of my recordings.  I sang a duet with “MelMaestro”, whose voice is awesome.

Autorap is another Smule’s app.   It converts your talk to rap.  I just read a newspaper paragraph.

Smule Guitar is fun too.   I can’t play the guitar, but this app makes it possible to perform by swiping and tapping the screen.   Better yet, you can perform the guitar in tune with your recording in Sing!Karaoke.  Another app called Magic Piano is similar to it.  It sounds by swiping and tapping.  This is a little boring for me.   I prefer playing the real piano.

“Knock You Down” Covered by three Japanese People

This song cover is located on a karaoke social networking site named Utasuki.  happyuan covered the Keri Hilson part; kly235 covered Kanye West; marshall covered Ne-Yo.

The original music video is here.  Wow!  It has been viewed over one hundred million times!

Check out more of my videos, including “Umbrella”:)

Have You Heard Of “Coverium”?

After uploading my singing videos to YouTube, I received an advertising mail from Coverium.    It seems to be a social networking site focusing on cover songs.   It is very easy to post a video by just linking with your YouTube account.   So I created an account.  Oh, I wonder how many social networking accounts I have!    To upload a video,  20 points are required.    However, points can be earned easily by clicking other videos.  It doesn’t bother me because I like to find talented or unique singers.  The more active you are in the site,  the more videos you can upload.   Coverium offers voice-lesson videos, which are just linked YouTube videos.  How To Sing

My Karaoke-Session Channel

I created my karaoke-session channel on YouTube.   Don’t laugh!   Anybody can create one.   I started doing karaoke sessions two years ago when my daughter asked me to go karaoke.    I hadn’t been interested in singing until then.   Now I’m a little addicted to it.   It is fun to  mimic the singers.   I want to copy the style of my favorite songs as much as possible.   Motivation comes first, however.  I can’t sing the songs I’m not interested in.   So far, the songs that I like come up one after another.    To tell the truth, I don’t think my singing is bad, but I also don’t think it’s good.   My weak point is trying to hit the middle and high voices.   I long for the powerful voice and the smooth transition from natural to high voice.   As for my English, I think the ending of the word is sometimes very important to pronounce.  Please let me know what you think.  I’d like to enjoy singing and meeting other karaoke fans by duet from now on.

The video was taken in a karaoke room in Japan. (The high tone part was unstable because I was out of breath after dancing. lol)

My Karaoke Songs On SoundCloud

The story of my karaoke singing will continue. 😀  I became a member of “SoundCloud” a couple of years ago, but used it only a few  times.   Then I decided to record my karaoke sessions on it.  Let me introduce two of them.

The first song is “American Life” by Madonna.  The rap part at the end was very difficult, but I did it somehow.

The second  one is “Tik Tok” by Ke$ha.

I recognized how great these two artists were after I sang their songs.
