Super Granny Series #6
I’d like to finish this series with this post. It wasn’t my intention to select only women. The fact is I simply couldn’t find anyt men. The last person, whom you may have heard of her too, is Carmen Dell’Orefice, 81-year-old super model. She is elegant, beautiful and graceful (@@) I feel it is rude to call her a “granny”. She was born in New York and has been modelling since she was age 15.
According to wiki, she lost most of her money twice in her life. For the first time, it happened in the 1980s and 1990s when she was investing in the stock market. For the second time, it happened in 2008 when she was duped by one of Bernard Madoff’s ponzi schemes. It seems she was unlucky with money.
Her posture is beautiful. I think posture is a key point for beauty.

Super Granny Series #2
In my last post, I wrote about the 98-year-old photojournalist. This time I’d like to introduce an 89-year-old female athlete. Her name is Mitsu Morita, who lives in Kumamoto, Japan.
She holds the 100m and 200m world records in the 85-89 age group. Records Outdoor Women It all started when she happened to win a race at the local community sport recreation. She was 70. Since then she has been a member of the local athletics club and continued her training with elementary school students. In the video, she says she eats pork every morning. It is said that protein is essential for elderly people. Her dream is to reach the top at age 100.
My aunt also began playing table tennis when she was about 60. Now she is about 80. She plays table tennis for 2 hours, 4 times a week. It’s amazing! I learned it’s never too late to try something new.

Japanese people have one of the world’s longest life-spans, with an average age of 86 for women and 79 for men in recent years. So there seem to be many energetic seniors. Tsuneko Sasamoto is one of them. She, at 98 years old, is still an active photojournalist. Her autobiography was published two years ago. In a bookstore, many books written by older authors are lined up, such as the book by an author living in Hawaii who is 104(@_@) Since I hope to live long, I bought those books…. correction, I borrowed the books from a library.
The Japan Daily Press provides more details about Tsuneko Sasamoto. She became the first female photojournalist in Japan. She began her professional career at age 27, but she had to switch jobs in mid-career. After a 20- year break, she got back to photography at age 71 and she has continued her work until now. Last year she flew to Paris on business. Wow!
According to the book, I think her keys to longevity are having curiosity, keeping her brain active, ( She keeps on studying English) physical activity, (She performs calisthenics every morning. She can bend forward and put hands on the floor) living a regular life, eating in moderation and drinking wine every evening.
This is the video promoting her book. In 2011, she didn’t look 97. She has good taste in clothes and a dignified elegance.
